About Joe Loffredo
Joe is a medium who has been writing about mediumship, spirits, and spirituality since 1995.
He started writing about the religion of Spiritualism, as exemplified by Lily Dale Assembly in New York (US) and the Spiritualist National Union (UK). It took a while to understand what it was about, and when he finally did, he wrote a concise description of it, which became his first book, Spiritualist Basics.
Joe created some additional documents to go with it, and put them on his website, which at that time was called the Spiritualist Religion Page (and later alseyon.com). Feedback about the site was positive, and included feedback from the clergy.
Blogging became a thing, so he started one and called it Joe's Blog. The blog ran for several years, but it wasn't getting enough traction. One day, he was looking for the answer to a (non-spiritual) question and ran into the answer on Quora.com, which is a Question & Answer site. ("Qu" as in question, "or" as in or, and "a" as in answer.) They had spiritual questions on the site too, so he began writing there.
Quora has lots of people asking so many questions. They used to have Top Writer awards, and Joe was a Top Writer. Some of my answers have many comments and clarifications, some of which are from other mediums, and a few questions have gone viral. Quora has spaces, which are like groups or pages on other social media sites. Joe created a space there called Musings On Mediumship to collect all the questions he's responded to, and it was the inspiration for the name of this site.
